The Adventures of Tintin: The Game

21 07 2011

I still remember the days when I hid myself in a library corner back in school reading the Adventures of Tintin by Hergé.  The characters in this comic series are extremely memorable – the intelligent and courageous protagonist, Tintin, his trusty canine friend, Snowy, the foul-mouthed Captain Haddock, the twin detectives Thompson and Thomson and the quirky Professor Calculus.  All of these will come alive later on this year in The Adventures of Tintin: The Game.

To the lucky few who’ve had the chance to test it out, I am sure it has been an amazing experience for them. The game has a bright and vibrant art style reminiscent of the original art created by Hergé. It provides myriad gameplay styles from aerial combat to exploration in an open 3D world that will keep you glued to it throughout the game. The boss fights are hilariously quirky and none of them is repetitive. Good camera perspectives and fluid controls all contribute to this promising upcoming title.

The game is developed and published by Ubisoft. It is set to be released early December, available to all 3 major platforms plus Wii and the 3DS. As the icing on the cake, the X360 version will also sport Kinect support to enhance the gameplay experience, though it will not be a requirement.
