I like that a lot of games these days have decided to expand their universe beyond just the video game. Whether it be a novel, movie, comic, or whatever else entertainment form, it’s cool to see them make a game more than just a game.
Dead Island is no exception as it will receive the novel treatment releasing September 8th, 2011. Just days after Dead Island hits retailers. It is written by Mark Morris, who has dabbled in Dr. Who, Hellboy, & Torchwood novels as well.
Here is what the author Mark Morris had to say about Dead Island:
“This is a rich, exotic world of well-conceived characters, stunning locations and all-out zombie mayhem. What really attracted me to the project, however, was the fact that behind the nonstop action is a complex and multi-layered plot”
I probably will be picking this up right after the game releases. I like anything that furthers the story of a game or develops more character background (like the Gears Of War novels). It is said that this game follow the stories of the 4 main characters.
So what do you all think about novels that are tied into video games?
