***Update March 14th, 2012*** Iwill say that the store manager at Gamestop told me that he had a conference call early this week and was supposed to get Skylanders in at the end of this week. Well, I’ve checked back every day and nothing so far. Sorry everyone…it seems that no one really knows what day they are supposed to come out.
From the comments below, it’s looking like next week will be when they might release. At least at Toys’r’us. March 21st is the date the everyone keeps hearing and seeing…so I’d definately check that day. If I get any kind of clear answer from anyone I’ll post back.
UPDATE*** March 5th, 2012*** I’ve been told from a representative of Gamestop that the rest of the Skylanders (including the last Adventure Pack) are supposed to be out March 08, 2012. Granted this is not completely confirmed, but I’d keep my eye out just in case.

Thank you for posting this info. It seems the most acurate I’ve found. In gives me something to point my kids to when they are begging for Whirlwind, but I’m not willing to pay the crazy amounts they are asking on eBay and elsewhere. Plus, it tells me there are some more fun adventure packs coming out! Feel better and Happy New Year.
Not a problem. According to what I’ve heard, the next wave is supposed to be out sometime in mid-Janurary. This being: Cynder, Double Trouble, & Whirlwind. But, I haven’t seen an exact confirmed date yet, so I just left it at Q1.

You may find whirlwind in a target store now. I used the target app to find mine in Maryland. I called stores that where listed as item available to make sure they had it. Stores listed as limited usually have inventory count problems.
If they are supposed to release it in a 3 pack with Drill Sergeant I think I’ll just wait because he is hard to find too. Maybe I’ll kill two birds with one stone. But thanks for the reply, I’m sure many people will be trying this now 🙂

Yes, they are out there. I was able to get ice, and the new 3 pack at a Gamestop here in chicagoland. Bad news (according to the Gamestop employee) is that they only get a few so they sell out in a couple days and sometimes within hours. He also told me that most stores, including the “big boxes” have an employee or two that are really into skylanders so they buy theirs then call all their friends, leaving few, if any left for customers. I can’t see any advatage for Activision releasing these in low quantities. The only people I see benifiting from this are the asses selling “Drill sergeant” on e-bay or amazon for $80.

I just saw some people on ebay taking pre-orders for Wham Shell, Zook, and Camo. They were also taking pre-orders for 3 packs with Cynder, Zook and Lightning Rod, as well as one with Ignitor, Camo and Warnado. Finally, there is an adventure pack on the way with Sunburn. So if we all can tough it out and avoid the scalpers, the entire collection should be avaiable soon

what is this that I am hearing about a whole new 32 characters coming out. I mean wow I am just a few short from having the whole 1st 32 and now they coming out with more I just don’t know what to do cause I can’t get enough of them cute little Skylanders.
Well, I haven’t heard anything on a whole new 32, but there are trademarks being filed by Activision for “Skylanders Giants”. Whether this means a sequel to the game, an expansion to Skylanders, or a new set of toys only time will tell. If i hear anything definate, I’ll be sure to put up a new post.
Thanks cause I am Skylander stupid over here. These things can cause a person to go broke if not careful and I’m speaking from experience on buying collections. I just hope that after the craze of them is over that we can find them easier plus I hope that they will be worth something so I can pass them to my kids.

My son has gone bonkers for his skylanders ever since I purchased (on major discount) for Christmas. He has every skylander from the legendary bash’s his newly cynder and slam bam…..oye my bank account is not liking this game! Came on to look to see if Lightening Rod was out yet. He has been on a mission! We were on a mission for a while for Cynder and were in Toysrus the other day here in Maine and there were 10 of them on the shelf! I was so surprised someone didn’t yank them all and sell them on eBay. lucky for me! Bought one for my son, and one for my nephew…….Waiting for the release of the next crew!

I noticed We B Toys has Legendary Trigger Happy now. Do the Legendary figures really have extra powers? Or do they just start at a higher level so you don’ t have to earn the power. I mean, what’s the real difference? Are they worth buying or just a scam?
it is in fact true that the lengendarys have extra power. they only come in certain skylanders though. the lengendarys are, bash, chop chop, spyro, and trigger happy.thank you for your time!

@zach – Currently they haven’t announced the names of the new Skylanders. But there are actuallly only 8 new skylanders and 8 giant skylanders that I have heard of. But I can’t completely confirm or deny that either…not 100% anyways.
@ Steve The Legendary Skylanders do not have extra powers. They have exactly the same powers as their regular counterparts.
The only difference is that they are stronger in their starting stats. Such as: Defense, Elemental Power, etc.

Yeah, same here. I’ve checked Wal-Mart & Gamestop before work @6 a.m. and after work @ 3:30 p.m. No luck. I’ve seen a post on another site stating that toys’r’us is supposed to have them in stock the 20th, but that was in North Carolina.
My friend at gamestop told me that his buddy in California has them at his store, but they’re not allowed to open the display until the 11th.
Seeing how new games come out on Tuesdays, the 20th seems the more likely of the options, but I’d keep my eye out just incase.

Dude that sucks gamestop here is cleared out all the time since they arrive fedex but we have walmart on lock and get first pick from the cases, I have an ebay account but I could not do that to people. Since they only cost me 7-8 dollars. I guess we started late. If I do decide to list them on ebay Ill list them at a lower price to cover ebay fees, Going to walmart now.

So toys r us has gotten a shipment every wednesday for over two months now. All of the sudden they have not had any in over two weeks (and they were always at least 6-8 cases in each shipment) Now they are saying it will be 3-21-2012 before they will have anymore. So i am thinking that is the official release date cause one store worker stated they had to hold them until the 21st. That comment was quickly counteracted by the electronics employee who usually opens the skylanders and puts them out on display with a no its just a supply and demand issue which i do not believe to be true cause it was a o crap shut up response to the other employee…….

I went to 3 Toys R US..es today. Two of them had the 3/21 note up. The other had 3 dozen Legendary Trigger Happy…s (stupid trying to make things plural that aren’t meant to be!) Just thought it was weird.
That seems to be the general consensus everywhere. I just wish Activision would give a release date. That would clear up all of this needless confusion. Thanks for the information though. I keep checking Wal-Mart & Gamestop twice a day. If I find any, I’ll be sure to post back here.

We go Legendary Trigger Happy from TRU yesterday. My sons told me that there are 2 ‘paths’ for some (or all?) skylanders. So now, they want 2 of each so that they can play both paths for each character. Anyone know how to clear out the skylanders memory so they can play the other path without buying 2?
DJ- You forgot to tell us which console your using. I can tell you how to do it on xbox 360. While in game play, press the little “back” button on the controller. This will bring up skylander info for the figure that is on the portal. From there select “manage” then “reset”. You may want to think twice about doing this because it will erase everything the skylander has earned to date. And yes, each skylander has 2 paths to choose from.
Well, I went to Gamestop today (in Tennessee) and I found the 3-pack of Lightning Rod, Cynder, & Zook. So, those, at the very least are out there =) Good luck and let us know what you all find!

just found this site and awesome, my son got this for christmas and who knew what a problem it would be. the characters became his motivation for “good days at school” can’t use this as a motivator if can’t find. Can never find triple paks anymore, are all the triple paks out?? Can they be found ? Triple paks just so much more cost savings for everyone.
I have be frustrated as well. I got the Dragons Peak Adventure Pack this week. They had a line at TRU that was roped off for Skylanders. We were given tickes for 1 single character pack and were allowed to buy 2 adv. or triple packs. Aside from Dragon’s Peak, everything was older. THer were 100 peices available. They sold out in 10 to 15 minutes.
I hope Camo comes out soon for Cesar.

activision said camo will be out between june 26th and july 6th along w wham shell and warnado not sure where the toys r us employee received their info but thats straight from activision statement on the remaining 3 characters. They have not set an exact date but the date will be in that period.
Thanks for the reply man. That seems like such a long way off for them to release that. I guess Activision has to keep their quarterly earnings up like that. Seems to be the only reasonable answer to why it’s taking so long for these to come out. Then Skylanders: Giants comes out 2-3 months later…so there’s their earning for that quarter. It will keep going on and on until these little guys lose their popularity…if they do that is. lol

Warnado hasn’t been released yet at all. From what the Toysrus people said: Warnado, Camo, & Wham-Shell will not be out until June or somewhere in the time frame.
As for the stores that sell them (if you’re in the US): Gamestop, Target, Wal-Mart, Hastings, Toys’r’us, Best Buy..I may have missed some. Online you can try Amazon.com, but they’re quite pricey and don’t even try Ebay because you will end up paying 10x the amount for most of them.

I live in South Carolina just went to Wal-Mart and they have all the adventure packs there. Also had about 6-7 triple packs of lightning rod, zook, and cynder. I was shocked because I have not saw this many packs for sale since this time last year. Looks like they must be making more and trying to replenish things.

My son and I have been getting these as soon as they come out. I am too the point I do not know how many there really are. So I was excited and thankful you have posted this for everyone. Now during my research I seen where there will be a new sequel set to the Skylander’s and they are known as the Giants…do you have any information on this?

Our son has all of the available skylanders to date, with the exception of Pearl Hex and Silver Eruptor. We saw Pearl Hex selling on Ebay for over $600.00!! To pay that much for a $8 toy is crazy people. We picked up a three pack at Toys R Us this week of Zook, Lightning Rod and Cynder. Now we have an extra Cynder as a backup. We have been to Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Toys r Us and Gamestop. In PA it is the same story everywhere. People are buying extra and selling them on Ebay to make a profit. Greed at its finest at the expense of young school age children and their pleasing parents. We love the game as much as the next family but this craze is getting out of hand.
RIGHT ON DAWN!! Don’t support the scalpers. Good things come to those who wait. I started collecting in early november and since have seen a pattern on how the figures and adventures are being released. They release one of a three pack first and shortly thereafter, the three pack. Individual, three packs, and adventure packs are rereleased a month or two later. Some of the early skylanders have been released several times. If this pattern holds, and I’m sure it will, by mid-summer all 32 figures and 4 adventure packs will be readily available at retail to make room for the giants to be released in the fall. So if you miss a skylander or two on the first release, don’t worry, it will be available again. Look at Whirlwind and Empire of Ice that scalpers were selling for $60+ around x-mass time. Now the stores have so many of them they can’t get rid of them. What’s cool about that is the scalpers will have to sell there left-overs at less than retail and eat the shipping if needed. Cool. Sweet revenge. Just be patient and you will get all your skylanders and adventures at retail. The only thing that pisses me off more than scalpers are the fools that buy from them.
I’ve still yet to go to TRU and get the Dragon’s Peak. So has anyone in the US actually seen Camo, Warnado, or Wham-shell in the stores? (not on ebay)

I just picked up the legendary 3-pack at TRU in Jackson,Tennessee. They had all the adventure packs and a lot of the older singles as well as Legendary trigger-happy. I saw the silver ones but didn’t buy them in Orlando back in Feb because I was waiting fro the regular ones to come out! I was able to get a Blue Bash but I had to stand in line for half an hour. It doesn’t do anything the regular Bash doesn’t do and it doesn’t show up like the legendary ones do under Skylanders (flash back and forth).
Now camo and warnado have been seen in some gamestops here in chicagoland. I’m going to wait for the triple pack. I’m sure I’ll have to wait till the second or third wave after all the scalpers buy them but that’s ok with me. I have all the skylanders except for the last 4 and never had to pay over retail by simply by being patient.
from what i gather from various web sites camo, warnado and whamshell have been released in California, new mexico, NY and PA. They are still hard to find in NYC my dad has been checking for me. My son is anxious for Warnado.

@knightwatevershu- Thanks for starting this blog soon to come to an end. The information you gave from the start as far as how skylanders will be released was 100% correct. The 3 packs. The adventure packs. Maybe not on time, but you would need some real inside for that. They are released = in all 48 states. Always hard to get at first because of scalpers. I don’t have inside but understand a bit about marketing. Activision still gets it’s sales whether you or or a scalper buy it. Activision also knows they are missing some sales but getting a whole lot of word of mouth (advertising) thru an intentional shortage. I’m suprised the CEOs @ Activision went with this. Who knows? Maybe they are right. Put Barbie and Ken together and you end up with baby beanies? Collectables at the time? Where was G.I. Joe? Fun aside, all skylanders will be available before summer.
I was told this past Saturday by an associate at Toys R Us that Camo, Warnado and Wham-Shell wouldn’t be out until June. I told him what I had read in comments here and what I saw last week on eBay (someone found Camo and Warnado at a Walmart near Miami and posted them with a pic of the receipt) and he basically told me everyone was lying. I dismissed him and went about my hunting.
I found Camo and Warnado (2 of each) at a Walmart in Saint Petersburg, FL this morning. I bought them all and gave 1 of each to my ex-wife for our son and kept the rest for his collection here.

I actually just picked up the Camo, Warnado, and Ignitor 3-pack at Best Buy yesterday. There were 3 of them on the shelf.
I have been hunting these skylanders since Christmas and yesterday I found out about the Volcanic Vault that was exclusive to Best Buy if you spent $25 on Skylanders at their store or bought the starter pack. Does anyone know how to get this item w/o going to scalpers? Is Best Buy going to issue more? I’m so tired of these exclusive sales pitches and exclusives.
I also was able to get camo and warnado at Walmart. I have heard that people are buying wham-shell from GameStop. But the three here haven’t seen any. I live in Jackson, TN.
By the way, the Volcanic Vault opens a new area in the Battlement segement of Skylanders. This is like the adventure packs in the skylander game.

Woohoo! My Gamestop finally got the Camo 3 pack and Dragon’s Peak! There was only one of each of them though and I got them both. Just need Wham-Shell now.

Unfortunately Dark Spyro only comes in the 3DS starter pack. Unless you buy it off Ebay, which then you will probably spend more on that than you would the 3DS pack all together.
Why would I want Dark Spyro? Is he any different that Spyro and Legendary Spyro?

I called Best Buy and a sales person stated that the coastal states are getting the first wave of Wham-Shells and the rest of us won’t get ours until June. I’m not sure that’s true but I don’t plan on buying from ebay!
If you are looking for the legendary Trigger Happy you can find him at the toy’s R US in time square I was there yesterday and they had a whole wall full of him.
Dragon’s Peak is no longer a “We B Toys” exclusive. Picked up at a GameStop in Chicagoland today along with the ignitor, camo, warnado triple pack. $40.00 total. Take that scalpers…… Just waiting for the second wave of wham-shells now.
This woman was waiting in line with me at tru to get blue bash last month and said her husband wants two of all the skylanders so he has both paths for each skylander. I now have three bash’s…blue…legendary and regular bash. I don’t think I want to go that route. I just want a Wham-Shell to finish this madness. I’d also like the Volcanic Vault but I can live without that.
Valcanic vault is much more like a mini game than an adventure pack. It is only a few min. of play. It used to be free at best buy with any purchase. For such a small amount of game play, I might pay a scalper $5. Unfortunetly, the cheapest I’ve seen is $30. If you haven’t already, check with your local best buys. Not many people know about volcanic vault so they might have some laying around. Never know. Maybe e-mail best buy support. It would not supprise me if if they would release it again as a promo in the future after the current skylander craze cools down.

I’m still looking for Wham-Shell. I bought the game in an Xbox 360 version to get the volcanic vault. No one around here has seen a Wham-Shell yet.

They still have some volcanic vaults that come with the game at Best Buy. It’s marked on the box so you know if it has it. Since I plan on buying xbox 360, I went ahead and bought it so I’d have it.
Rumor has Wham-shell hitting the streets again June 1.

Anyone know the difference between the Giants starter pack and the expansion pack. They are now available to preorder from TRU, but I can’t get any info on what is in them.
The starter pack is for those that don’t have the original game.

Since I wrote this TRU has change the listing to, “Portal Owners Pack” and “Non-Portal Owners Pack.” That clears it up a little, however, I would like to know exactly what is included in each. I want to avoid missing some special hard to get feature or character by getting the cheaper set.
It is my understanding the only difference is the expansion pack does not include a portal. Both will have the new game, 3 skylanders w/cards, and a poster.

I just saw on the TRU website that the “Portal Owners Pack” will only come with one Skylander. This is really upsetting because for an additional $15, it will be more worthwhile to buy the starter pack. Unfortunate!
You are right. I looked @ GameStop. For $15 more (starter pack), you get 2 more skylanders and a portal. Makes no sense.
Another thing that does not make sense is a release date of 12/31. Black friday would make sense.
Looks like the release date has been updated to 10/21/12 but, the owner’s pack still shows only one skylander. That has to be a mistake.

Camo is so darn rare! EB Games never has him in Single or Triple alike! I’m about to give up the search… I been everywhere! K-mart, Big W, EB Games, Sanity, Uncle Petes, Toys-R-Us.. The list goes on. Cynder isn’t rare anymore. There is 23 Cynders on the rack in EB Games and they’ve been just sitting there for who knows how long. I want Flameslinger but he’s pretty popular too. I’ve seen him before in EB Games, and when I went back to get him, he wasn’t thereso I got Stealth Elf instead. I used to have Skylanders but I broke down and I took it back and swapped it for a whole bundle of Pokemon Cards instead. So… I don’t have Spyro, Gill Grunt or Trigger Happy anymore and Irecently started collecting again so I can take them to my buddies place when we play Skylanders. Right now all I have is Stealth Elf and I really want Flameslinger and Camo. I wanted Cynder but my buddy has her so I won’t get her just yet.

•My best buddy has Whirlwind and Cynder!!!
•Whirlwind’s Soul Gem is hard to find. (Ive never found it.)
•Whirlwind can fly really fast which is good for getaways.
•Whirlwind’s upgrades are pure SHIT!!!

Try ordering on line with Best Buy. That’s how I was able to get Wham Shell. Then I received another one in the cardboard castle case that sells for $29.99 at TRU.

I have been to 20 differenet Walmarts in NC and even 2 different Walmarts in Tenn over the past two weeks and still nothing on Wham Shell. Ugh this little guy is a pain in the butt to find. Plz someone help.

I’ve already been to TRU and spent over $300 on the new characters. I received a castle case that cost $29.99 for free since I spent over $100 on skylander giants. There is no raincheck and it is only while supplies last so if you want the castle case (It’s a cardboard box but it will hold some of your figurines) be prepared for a search. I had to go to another TRU to get my case since the one I visited first did not have any left.
