Blue Dragon Goes Animated On DVD

As posted on IGN.com:

VIZ Media has announced the North American DVD debut of Blue Dragon, a new animated series based on the popular Xbox 360 RPG. Blue Dragon Volume 1 is rated A for All Ages, and just hit store shelves this week. It features five episodes and carries an MSRP of $14.98. The animated series is a classic adventure story of magical Shadow powers, flying air fortresses, and unbounded heroism! Brought together by fate, Seven Soldiers of Light must awaken the Shadow within themselves in time to overcome a despotic power and bring peace to their land. Their ensuing journey through a rich fantasy world is also an internal journey to awaken the great power within each of them. Journey with them into the world of Blue Dragon.

The Xbox 360 game “Blue Dragon” was developed by Hironobu Sakaguchi (the creator of Final Fantasy). The game and animated series feature memorable characters designed by Akira Toriyama, the creator of the best-selling Dragon Ball series of manga. The Blue Dragon animated series is produced by Studio Pierrot, which is well-known for its work on Naruto and Bleach.

“We’re very excited to announce the eagerly anticipated DVD debut of the new Blue Dragon series,” says Brian Ige, Director of Sales, Home Entertainment, VIZ Media. “The first volume introduces a captivating adventure story inspired by the popular Xbox 360 game and possesses a balanced mix of action and comedy that will both entertain and inspire. RUMOR: Turn 10 Working On PGR 5?

I actually thought that the PGR 4 was going to be the last on in the series.  But, rumor has it that Turn 10, the guys and gals repsonsible for Forza Motorsports, may be taking over the helm on Project Gotham Racing.  Supposably they are going to announce PGR5 as early as next week.

I think it’d be interesting to see what they can come up with…Forza is a solid title.  But I wonder if it can compete with Codemasters; GRiD and DiRT…?

RUMOR: Marvel Making A New Punisher Game?

 

It’s been a good while since we’ve had a Punisher game, in fact, I think it was back in 2004.  That’s quite a while.  To me, The Punisher game was one of the best comicbook games I’ve ever played and it still ranks up there in my Top 5 superhero games.

So, when I heard that Marvel was making a new Punisher movie, I expected a game announcement to follow…but no such luck.  The above images was supposably leaked to 4colorrebellion.com by Ryan Penagos stating that this is “upcoming artwork from the new Punisher game”.  Whether this turns out to be true or not…only time will tell, but I hope it does.  The article also stated that new information on this game will be out sometime next week, so I guess we have to wait at least that long to see if it’s true.

The article did not mention if the video game was related to the movie or if it was a stand-alone game.  Here’s to hoping it’s a stand-alone game and that it has nothing to do with the movie….because we all know how movie video games turn out.

Blizzivision Releasing James Bond Games Annually

Yep, following in the steps of Call Of Duty….it appears that Blizzivision (Blizzard/Activision) are going to start releasing a yearly James Bond game starting with James Bond: Quantam Of Solace.

I don’t really know if this is a good thing or not.  I’m personally not that big of a fan of JB games, but they might suprise me….maybe.  As far as I can tell, there hasn’t been good James Bond game since GoldenEye on N64…now that’s been a long time…
