Borderlands 2 Profile: Maya

30 08 2012

I think that Maya could be one of the biggest suprises for Borderlands 2. Her Phaselock ability could potentially be a co-op player’s dream come true. Freezing your enemies in mid-air while all of your buddies light ’em up.

Gearbox has released Maya’s profile for Borderlands 2, check it out!

Borderlands 2 can’t get here quick enough for me, but you can expect it to hit stores September 18th, 2012.

Borderlands 2 Profile: Brick

22 08 2012

While not a playable character this time around, Brick will be in Borderlands 2 to assist you in the hunt for Handsome Jack. Check out his profile!

When I first played Brick in the original Borderlands I was a bit skeptical about his abilities. But after he got leveled up, I think he was one of Borderlands best suprise characters.

Notable thing about Brick: He likes puppies.

Aww, how sweet, dont we all?

Borderlands 2 launches this September 18th, 2012. Are you ready for it? I know we are!

Borderlands 2 Profile: Salvador

20 08 2012

With Borderlands 2 less than a month away, Gearbox/2K are keeping the hype up for (probably) the most anticipated co-op title of this year. I can’t wait to see the improvements made from the first game. The skill trees, from what I’ve seen, are going to be a lot more awesome. Which could be a problem as well because there aren’t really any bad choices for any of the characters skill trees. So what to pick? I’ll probably spend as much time debating that as I will looting and shooting!

So here is the official profile for Salvador, the Gunzerker! (click on the picture for a bigger version).

I’d have to say my favorite part of his profile is: “Likes: Shooting Things, Dislikes: Not Shooting Things.”

Well, Salvador…we can’t wait to start shooting things with you and the rest of the vault hunters when Borderlands 2 arrives September 18th, 2012!

What Is X-COM? Watch This Dev Diary

23 09 2011

It’s been almost 13 years since a new X-COM game came out.  Not to mention 17 years since the first one came out DOS.  Most gamers probably won’t even remember these games (I’m one of those).  So when I read in OXM a few months back that a new X-COM was coming out I didn’t have the first clue what they were talking about.

This new X-COM game, in ways, strays away from the original games such as it’s now a first person shooter instead of the strategy/simulation.  But fear not, many of the series elements will continue on in this new X-COM: such as controlling a team & the fictional energy source called Elerium will make it’s return.

It is being developed by 2K Marin which had it’s hand in Bioshock 2.  Although Bioshock 2 didn’t receive as much glory as it’s predecessor (how could you top Bioshock anyways) I expect this game is in good hands.

So what do you all think about X-COM?

X-COM is expected to release March 6th, 2012.
