Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 – Debut Trailer

1 05 2012

So here is the debut trailer to one of the biggest franchises in gaming.  Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2.

So, what do you think?  Do you approve of this whole futuristic warfare?  But I have to believe that they’re starting to do what Ubisoft was doing with Ghost Recon…copying off the the other franchise.  But I guess we’ll just have to see how it all pans out…it is only one trailer after all…

Crysis 3 Revealed, Gameplay Trailer Next Week!

20 04 2012

The long anticipated sequel to some of the most impressive graphics ever seen in a video game has finally been announced. Crysis 3.  Before we go into too much detail, check out the teaser trailer below…

Not exact release date have been given, but they have said to expect it Spring 2013 on Xbox 360, not its successor.  The trailer looks quite impressive and I can’t wait to get my hands on the new weapon they showed off, the “composite bow”.

Here are some of the key features in Crysis 3:

  • Seven Wonders of the Urban Rainforest –New York City has been contained in a giant nanodome and grown into a unique rainforest with seven distinct environments. Master the ultimate sandbox and turn it into your own personal hunting ground.
  • Assess, Adapt, and Attack – Crysis’s highly-acclaimed sandbox gameplay is back with more open levels to let players choose their path and approach. Your upgraded Nanosuit allows brute force or stealth, always giving you more than one option.
  • Expanded Multiplayer – Experiment with new ways to customize your Nanosuit and brandthe new game modes.
  • The Biggest and Most Explosive Arsenal in Franchise History – In addition to giving you an arsenal of human firearms, Crysis 3 lets you scavenge alien weapons and deploy an all-new signature bow
  • The Evolution of CryENGINE – CryENGINE unleashes the power of the Crytek creative team and delivers a visually stunning and varied gameplay experience.

So what do you think of the teaser trailer?  Stay tuned here next week for a gameplay trailer!

Your First HALO 4 Trailer!!!

Halo.  When almost anyone thinks of the Xbox franchise they think of the big franchises: Halo, Gears Of War, Fable, etc. It’s needless to say that Halo has greatly helped the sucess of the Xbox franchise.

Well, Master Chief is back with Cortana for yet another trilogy starting with Halo 4.  In a bold and suprising move, Halo 4 was announced for Xbox 360….not it’s forthing coming spawn: 720, etc, etc…  I would have thought surely Microsoft would use Halo 4 for a new console seller, but props to them for this move.

Anyways, onto your first look at Halo 4:

Halo 4 will launch this holiday season, 2012!  Are you excited yet?

Fable Heroes Announced For XBLA

5 03 2012

In an odd and interesting turn of events, it seems that Fable has been placed inside a snowball and shaken violently by a 3 year old.

While Fable: The Journey is still in development for Xbox 360 Kinect, Lionhead Studios has put a small developement team together to try something experimental for the Fable franchise.

By watching the trailer, this game reminds me of Castle Crashers, Fairytale Fights, & Mario Party all wrapped into one.  With that being said, Fable Heroes is supposed to be cross-compatible with Fable: The Journey.  Supposably you’re able to import gold, items, and upgrades.

No specific date has been announced, but expect this 4 player cooperative/competitive hack-n-slash to be out Summer 2012.

Assassin’s Creed III Reveal Trailer & Details

5 03 2012

Assassin’s Creed has turned into a cashcow for Ubisoft.  I won’t go as far to say that they are milking it, because to me they are still making solid games and not just putting out crap to make money (a la Guitar Hero/Activision).  With that said, this new AC game looks to change the entire landscape and feel of it’s predecessors.

As for details surfacing around the internet, there are quite a few of them.  If you don’t want to spoil some of the game for yourself, I’d advise to stop reading right now.  For everyone else grab a drink because this is quite a list!

Kingdoms Of Amalur: A Heroes Guide Video

26 11 2011

R.A. Salvatore, Tood McFarlane, and Ken Rolston.  If you have any knowledge of video games, fantasy, or entertainment you should know what it means to have all three of these amazingly talented people on the same game.

Enter: Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning.

The more I hear about this game, the more I want it.  People are calling this game “an Elder Scrolls Killer”.  While I won’t go that far, I will say that it looks like this game is going to give the beloved Lionhead Studios franchise, Fable, a run for its’ money.  I don’t know where people are getting Elder Scrolls from because by all the videos I’ve seen, this game is more closely resembled to Fable.

With that being said, I have no doubt that the storyline of this game will be anything other than fantastic.  When it comes to modern fantasy authors, there are none better than R. A. Salvatore.  If you do not know who that is, all you need to do is google: Drizzt Do’Urden.  That is all you need to know!

As for Todd McFarlane, creator of the comic book character Spawn, you can definately tell that a great amount of detail has gone into his creatures models in this game.  I expect nothing less that to be amazed by his wicked imagination.

Lastly, we have Ken Rolston.  Lead designer for both TES III: Morrowind and TES IV: Oblivion.  Not much more needs to be said about this guy either.

I’ve seen many great game ideas go horribly wrong, but this game….this is going to be one to watch out for.  So watch the video and tell me what you think in the comments below!

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be released in North America on February 7th, 2012 and in Europe on February 10th.

Aliens: Colonial Marines Walkthrough Trailer

30 09 2011

Gearbox is becoming one of my more favorite developers.  From Borderlands 2 to Aliens: Colonial Marines to Brothers In Arms: Furious 4.  Gearbox is leading the way in the four player co-op area.

Here is a video of the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines game with narrative by Randy Pitchford.

So what do you all think about Aliens: Colonial Marines?  Does this game interest you or do you think it will be a complete failure?

What Is X-COM? Watch This Dev Diary

23 09 2011

It’s been almost 13 years since a new X-COM game came out.  Not to mention 17 years since the first one came out DOS.  Most gamers probably won’t even remember these games (I’m one of those).  So when I read in OXM a few months back that a new X-COM was coming out I didn’t have the first clue what they were talking about.

This new X-COM game, in ways, strays away from the original games such as it’s now a first person shooter instead of the strategy/simulation.  But fear not, many of the series elements will continue on in this new X-COM: such as controlling a team & the fictional energy source called Elerium will make it’s return.

It is being developed by 2K Marin which had it’s hand in Bioshock 2.  Although Bioshock 2 didn’t receive as much glory as it’s predecessor (how could you top Bioshock anyways) I expect this game is in good hands.

So what do you all think about X-COM?

X-COM is expected to release March 6th, 2012.
